Brian Phelan

Assistant Professor   


Brian joined DePaul in 2012. Brian’s research and teaching interests include labor economics, demographic economics and applied econometrics. He is currently working on projects related to the costs and consequences of mid-career job losses, the spillover effects of minimum wage laws, and the effects of welfare reform on household formation.

Associate Professor  


Laura Owen is an Associate Professor of Economics at DePaul University. She is also the Director of the Undergraduate Economics Program.  Laura’s research interests are in American economic history, U.S. labor history, industrial relations and American studies.​
